A federal initiative to train more people for technology and software jobs gets its official Colorado introduction Thursday.

The TechHire event, hosted by the Innovation Pavilion in Centennial, aims to recruit veterans by sharing job training opportunities available to those in a post-military career.

The event is also open to employers in need of workers who have been trained in the program.

The event includes a panel led by Rep. Dan Pabon, D-Denver. Other panelists are from Patriot Bootcamp, a Techstars startup school for veteran-owned businesses; Comcast, which has committed to hiring veterans; and Skill Distillery, a Denver coding school that recently became one of the first to be allowed to use the GI Bill to pay tuition.
