PLAYPAL INC, GETS KIDS MOVING BY THE DOZENS

Parker, Colorado, May 6th, 2017 —PlayPal Inc in partnership with the Town of Parker hosted the launch of the game “Keeko” which gamifies O’Brien Park. The launch took place on May 6th 2017 in Parker’s O’Brien Park. Over a hundred-and-fifty children and adolescents flooded the park to participate in the first-ever “active” gameathon featuring PlayPal’s new game “Keeko.” In addition to parents and families, important guests included the Mayor of Parker and senior representatives from Mile High United Way, Techriot, Prime Health, and American Diabetes Association.

“Watching the kids in our community get active through gaming is truly remarkable. When I was growing up we didn’t have games like this, we played games like Pac Man, nothing like the interactivity of Keeko.” said Mayor Waid of Parker.

Keeko, the first game of its kind, gives children and adolescents the tools they need to improve their health while having fun! The character Keeko is maneuvered by the user’s body; that is when you run Keeko runs, when you walk the character walks and when you jump the character jumps too! Your objective is to move your body to help Keeko dodge the junk foods by moving right and left and jumping over them and collect the healthy foods in the right amounts by running as fast as you can.

“This is the best game I have ever played. I love how I control my character with my body” remarked a 13 year old who was at the top on the game leaderboard with a score of 8,535. “I wish I could play it at home too, it’s so much fun! I really love it when I need to jump over the doughnuts. I feel like I’m inside the game.”

Led by entrepreneurs Steve Lopez and Eesha Sheikh, “Playpal” creates technology that empowers adolescents to take control of their own health while doing what they already love, playing video games. Their ultimate mission is prevention and reversal of childhood obesity by utilizing technology to effect a behavioral change in adolescent’s. Over the last year, Playpal has produced a unique gaming platform that targets both energy expenditure and intake and Keeko is just the first of many games that will follow. Furthermore, the platform incentivizes kids with real-life rewards to help keep them motivated to accomplish their health goals while empowering them to take complete charge of their lifelong health. So far, Playpal has managed to secure support from leading industry and nonprofit players like Aetna and Mile High United Way, who stand behind this mission.

Building upon its successes, PlayPal plans to launch a kickstarter campaign in summer 2017 with an impressive lineup of fitness and healthcare partners. Just a month since its announcement, PlayPal is well on its way to transforming the childhood health community in Colorado and beyond. A revolution has begun, folks; an adolescent health revolution.
