On January 18, 2018, Innovation Pavilion’s Centennial headquarters was abuzz with the sort of excitement you would expect to find at an epicenter of innovative activity. The Who’s Who of the Colorado tech scene, key stakeholders and important community leaders were gathered to celebrate Innovation Pavilion’s sixth anniversary. Much like previous years, the idea was to bring together all these entities who play an important part in IP’s ecosystem as members, partners, sponsors and friends to reflect on the previous years and share the vision for the future.

The event itself was simple and format with a focus on the guests mingling and networking with each other. IP CEO and Founder Vic Ahmed shared his thoughts before the audience before inviting Colorado gubernatorial candidate Doug Robinson to say a few words. The attendee list was impressive: from IP’s neighbors Arrow and Centura Health and aerospace leaders Jeppesen and Ball Aerospace to various city and economic development leaders.

“The anniversary reception is always a great opportunity to celebrate our many successes with our community,” commented Ahmed. “It is so great to see all these familiar faces under one roof. It is a pleasure for me and I am sure of much use to those who join us.”

TechrIoT hosts former Akamai CIO to provide F500 perspective

TechrIoT hosted yet another well-attended Meetup on January 19, 2018 at IP’s Centennial headquarters. The agenda for this month was to engage Kumud Kalia, former CIO of Akamai Technologies, in a fireside chat. After an introduction by IP CEO Vic Ahmed, TechrIoT Chairman Paul Isham dived straight into a detailed discussion with Kalia on several topics of interest. The conversation was focused on providing a Fortune 500 perspective from Silicon Valley to the Colorado audience. Kalia shared his immense experience and insights, particularly in discussing the future of technology and its various exciting industry applications.

The event was live-streamed on IPtv and you can watch below:

Kaiser Permanente VP speaks at Prime Health Meetup

January 25, 2018 saw the media room at Innovation Pavilion overflowing with guests looking to hear from Kaiser Permanente Colorado’s Vice President of Strategy Brent Bowman. Hosted jointly by IP and Prime Health, the quarterly Meetup event posed an important question: how has consumerism and and technology affected healthcare? Bowman’s experience and unique view into the industry made for an insightful keynote that engaged the audience. He was then followed, as usual, by an entrepreneur with an innovative product in the healthcare space: CEO Mark Barnes of TeleSpine, a company developing a home-based back therapy program.

If you missed the event or simply could not get a good seat due to the packed audience, you can catch up on the IPtv live-stream below:

IP’s Vic Ahmed designated “Man of the Year”

The Villager has an annual tradition of selecting a woman and man of year who have had “a profound, positive impact” on the Denver South community. This year, the publication has made what it terms “an innovative choice” by tapping two individuals who are “entrepreneurial to the core” for the annual award. IP’s very own Vic Ahmed added another feather to his cap after being designated “Man of the Year” and was joined by “Woman of the Year” President of CSU-Global Dr. Becky Takeda-Tinker.

Jan Wondra does a fantastic job of exploring Vic’s impressive background, his inspiration for setting up Innovation Pavilion and the vision his team is aspires to through its hard work. Read the full article here.

Centennial Community Update: New Manager, New Members

There is always activity in our Centennial campus! Most recently, we bid farewell to Mary Heinrich who has done wonders for our community and welcomed a new community manager. The IP team and Centennial members were enthusiastic in their welcome for Valeria Aguilera. Hailing from Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, Valeria is entrepreneurial by nature: She started her first company at the age of 22 and has special interest in community-based efforts. Valeria has called the Denver area home for the past three years and is excited for her role at IP due to the unique work environment and organizational vision.

Schedule a tour with Valeria to see flexible workspace and event options at our Centennial campus.

We also opened the new year with three new members: AccuMed Health Care Research, Nguyen & Associates CPA, Inc and MWD Web Denver. We bid them a warm welcome and hope they have a fruitful time at IP full of productive collisions and success!
